Dr Maro Petrou graduated with honors (20/20) from the Lyceum of Apostles Peter and Paul in Limassol in July 2002. Subsequently, she secured a position at Athens Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens through the Pancyprian examination for High School students.

Graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree with honors (Grade: Excellent), she embarked on a fulfilling journey in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. During her training she had the opportunity to work as a fellow sonographer at Kings Hospital and UCLH under the guidance of Cypriot Professor K. Nikolaides.

In 2014, driven by a passion for Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery, particularly in the context of endometriosis, she completed post-graduate training at the ICENI Centre in collaboration with Anglia Ruskin University in the UK.

This experience included working as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist for NHS at Chelmsford Hospital, Essex. In 2015, she was honored with an MCh (Master in Surgery) in Minimal Access and Robotic Surgery, with a dissertation focusing on bilateral endometriomas.

In addition to her clinical expertise, she has acquired specialized training, including a Certificate of DaVinci Technology Training as a Console Surgeon from IRCAD in Strasbourg, France, and the recent completion of a CDP certified courses on Menopause.

Since 2016, she has her private office Limassol as Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in private practice and she is an associated doctor at the American Medical Center in Nicosia.
